Scare of a Lifetime

We had a huge scare about 2 weeks ago. We came home from softball practice and Grant starting running fever. We started our normal regimen to reduce his fever and he went to bed. We had given him medicine throughout the night and around 2am we could hear moaning so we went to check on him. He was burning up, would not open his eyes, was rigid and had his left arm and left leg were pulled into flexion. My first thought was that he was having  a stroke or a seizure. Jeremy frantically called 911 and I held him in my arms waiting and praying. When the EMS arrived and took his vitals he had 105.3 and a heart rate over 200 and was still not responding. In the end after a trip to the hospital we were told he had a febrile seizure that lasted about 15 minutes. This is nothing that will affect his development; however, he could have another with a rapid increase in fever. It was a scare that we will never forget and are blessed to have healthy children.  We are blessed to have great neighbors that are family. Crystal came over to stay with the big kids and our parents were up within the hour. Through all the commotion and sirens amazingly Kennedy and Jaxon never woke.
