Check Me Out

It is official that Jaxon has a true obsession with the vacuum cleaner. I attribute this to the "Maurer" gene. Grandpa Maurer used to always vacum. I remember him being the "vacuumer" in the family, that gene was passed on to my father...and yes I to have an obsession with clean carpets. Jaxon runs to the vacuum when I put it on and we get out the vacuum so he can just play on it. When we put it up he cries and points to the closet. He will maybe his wife happy one day!

Another new fascination

Poor baby..this is when he was sick last week

Two more of my favorite people

PoPo and Jaxon

What's on TV?
PaPa and Jaxon

Two of my favorite people

I love Granny and MaMa! They do so many fun things and are so nice. The things I love about them....

  • when they play dress up with me
  • sing songs and dance with me
  • bring me "cute" clothes
  • let me sleep in their bed...that's lots of fun because I can stay up later than mommy and daddy let me:)
  • take me shopping and play babies with me

I have the two best grandma's in the whole world. I pray for them every night and even twice at dinner and bedtime. Thank you God for my Granny and MaMa.

Love to Twirl

I love to dance and twirl in circles with my new tutu! I love to play dress-up!

I got my blog to book for 2008-2009 this weekend! I have decided to start using the blog as a "scrapbook" so sorry if the posts are not that exciting, but I want to use this for our children to read back on later. Kennedy loves looking at her baby book. Before Jaxon came along I was a consistent scrapbooker....his individual book will come one day.

Dinner Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for mommy and daddy being married and my brother and me being married. Thank you for daddy's tummy feeling better. Thank you for baby Jesus, Joseph and Mary. Thank you for mommy, daddy, Jaxon, Ma Ma, Pa, Pa, Granny, PoPo, and my grandpa. Amen

Love,
Kennedy Grace, 3 months 6 months

On the way home from school Kennedy says, "I am glad you and Daddy are married. My brother and I are getting married too .We will have lots of people come to church." Her dress color was "white" when I asked. She said she would have to pick up Sadie our dog and take her to the church too. After Jamie and Kyle's wedding and looking at our wedding picture she has used the term "married" quite often.

As for her prayer, she prays for her grandpa, of which she does not call any of our parents grandpa. Tonight I realized it was meant to be in plural form....grandparents:)

Day Three

Amazingly I can count on one hand the times we have gone to the doctor due to Jaxon being sick. With poor Kennedy and her ear infections we made it the doctor every two weeks until she got ear tubes. This is day three of what started out as an ear infection with a virus on top of that (mommy diagnosis). Poor baby had 104.4 fever and has been sleeping on our chests at night and we have put together a crew to allow mommy and daddy to go to work (thank you grandparents). I love to cuddle with my little baby boy, he just rests his head on your shoulder for hours. However, it would be nice to have worked more than on two day this week. We are on the up side of all the sickness!

New things Jaxon is doing:
  • saying "da-da" "uh-oh" as he throws down food and toys from his high chair
  • walking all over the place
  • starting to bite and hit (trying to curve these behaviors) he tends to go after Kennedy only and normally it involves something she "accidently" took away
  • has become more of the "baby" in personality

Sleep Over Part II

The girls insisted on a photo with Jaxon...he was not so happy about this
I don't think they minded at all though!

We ended Saturday with a trip to the donut store with Daddy, some dress-up and playing in the big bathtub. The girls truly did have a blast together and are already planning the next sleep over. Thank you for sharing Avery with us, she was so good and sweet.

Out for dinner...

We met mom and dad for dinner in Montgomery. The girls enjoyed cheese dip and nuggets! Jamie please don't cringe....I asked Avery what she wanted for dinner and she answered "cheese". We ordered queso and she ate her chicken nuggets. I learned some new things about cousin Avery..she loves cheese..I couldn't resist taking this picture.

They enjoyed singing the birthday song at dinner and played hard. On the way home there was discussion of switching PJ's and they did just that when we got home. We blew up the mattress and the girl's were out. They would have slept all night if it were not for Kennedy getting up. I got up patting them both to sleep for awhile and was glad to get back to bed:)

Sleepover Part I..The Paint Store

I met Jamie and Wes Friday afternoon to pick up Avery for the girls' first official sleepover. At first I was a little worried when a few tears where shed as mom and dad drove away. The tears were gone in less than a minute and we headed to get Kennedy. When the girls got together there was non stop chatter and laughing. The first stop was the paint store..."no boys allowed" they kept saying and didn't know how to react when the gentleman next to me was getting a pedicure:)

Both girls first color choice was PINK
Avery wanted to add in blue and Kennedy wanted to add in purple
we settle for PINK with hearts

Are you sure you are painting that right?

Avery picking out valentine candy from Kennedy's hair

The finished product!! The girls were so good that I got to enjoy a quick pedicure and manicure!

Happy Birthday PaPa

Jaxon and PaPa

Avery and MacKenzie
Enjoying part of her first sleepover

Surprise!!

Happy Birthday PaPa! This weekend we celebrated Dad's birthday with the entire crew. We are blessed to have an incredible father and even more blessed that we are able to share him with our children. The things we love about PaPa / Dad are:
  • his good sense and how he makes us "see all sides"
  • the love and care he provides
  • his joking personality
  • sitting outside barbequing enjoying his company
  • daily phone conversations ...what would he do if his children couldn't call him all the time
  • his special trips to MacDonald's, the donut store, and playing outside

The list could go on...We love you Dad and wish you a blessed and very happy birthday!

Happy Valentines Day

Kennedy got a big girl bike for "Balentines" or for awhile it was "Valence" day. The picture below is her frustration in wanting to do it herself without help. She did pedal by herself after a couple of tries in the contained space of the garage. Her "princess" bike is the best!!! Jaxon enjoyed playing with his new truck and playing with big sister's bike wheels.

I just learned how to upload a video but cannot get it loaded horizontally (any help would be appreciated) so be prepared to view from a side angle. Happy Valentines Day 2010 to everyone!

Sleepover

I got to have my first sleepover with cousin Avery. It was so fun and I was so excited! She came to my house and she even came to my school to pick me up!! I had to introduce her to all my friends and then we went with mommy and did all kind of girl things.....no boys allowed!

more pictures to come
The girls did great and had so much fun together. It was fun to watch them playing dress up, getting their nails done, and just being silly.

One is around the corner

It is completely amazing to imagine that Jaxon will be one in a few weeks! One year ago we were preparing the nursery and were all gitty about the arrival of our baby boy. Jaxon is developing his own personality. He is easy going, likes to tease and is a cuddler. He adores his sister and she watches his every move. Thank you Lord for our sweet baby boy!!!

Valentines Day Preparation

Valentines Day school parties are today. I always forget how much work it is and how many things I can potentially forget. Check...Kennedy signed her 14 classmates cards and decorated their valentines, have the chicken nuggets packed for Jaxon's class, the money for Kennedy's class luncheon, and yes...one last run back into the house for teacher gifts!! I love the holidays but am glad they are once a year.

Pots and Pans....

This is the normal look of the kitchen after dinner and the kids are stripped down for their baths. They take out all the pans from the oven drawer..stack them, sit in them, push them around the house, and it ends with Jaxon in the drawer and Kennedy yelling at me that "brother needs to get out so I can clean up!"

Yuck and more yuckies....

If you haven't noticed most of Jaxon's pictures are taken in his highchair 1) because this is the only time he is still and 2) he requires pictures to be taken because he ends up like this. Enjoying one of his new favorites...cereal bar. This is no use in wiping him down until he is completely done!
