This past week was Kennedy's official end of school Pre-K party. This last couple of weeks they have had a theme in school. This week's theme was camping. They learned about camp fire, camping snacks, played with flashlights, and learned what to do if they were to ever come across a bear (now that was an interesting conversation with Kennedy).  We will forever be touched by our Pre-K experience and are so sad that it is over.

Rio

Last Saturday I took Kennedy, Jaxon, and one of Kennedy's friends to see Rio. I was completely second guessing myself when I was carrying to kid movie trays and attempting to hold Jaxon from running all over the theatre.  Once we were seated, it was easy sailing and I was happy that I ventured out of the house. The kids love the movie and I may attempt it again at a later time.

Play-off Journey Ends

We are sad to say that our baseball play-off journey is over. We lost by one run Thursday night and Saturday was a crazy game!! We were down by four, fought back to make it 4-3 bottom of the 6th, and then we lost the game.  Sports, baseball, the love of the game, and being apart of the "team" is embedded is this family. It is not always a good thing, we make lots of sacrifices, and gain many things in return----a family away from our own family, the opportunity to meet some great people, and the continued reminder of where hard work can lead you! Go Bears, what a great season!!!

Seattle Mariners

Kennedy has one more T-Ball game this Saturday and the season will be over!  It has been lots of fun and a little crazy with daddy's season in full swing.  It is amazing how quickly the kids have picked up the game and how much fun they are having!

To Define Virtue

Kennedy  graduated from Pre-K last Friday, May 13th.  I have put this post off for a while now, not knowing how to write about this milestone in her life.  For those reading, you may think, really it is Pre-K?!? This has been the most amazing year for Kennedy in so many ways...academically, socially, and in her walk of faith.  Her school is amazing but I have to say that her teacher is even more amazing. Because of the structure and curriculum in the classroom, our decision after next year becomes a tough one.  Kennedy will be blessed to enjoy another year at Grace in T-Kindergarten.  This gives us the option to test her into to 1st grade or follow with Kinder. Ask me now and hands downs, I would say "yes" she is ready, however, when we look at her having an August birthday, being the baby in her class, and  technically being almost a year younger than peers in her class we hesitate on what is the right decision for her.

Kennedy is reading, loves learning, and loves God.  Friday as we sat through her graduation, even though we know she has one more year at Grace, tears rolled down my face.  Words will never be enough to describe the gratitude I have to the Pre-K teachers.  At the ceremony, each child was given a word to describe their personality and who they are as a Pre-K student and Mrs. Chris chose virtue for Kennedy.  Virtue defined means one who strives for moral excellence; goodness; righteousness, conformity of one's life and conduct to moral and ethical principles; uprightness; rectitude. We were all smiles and had to laugh when Mrs. Chris said that Kennedy gets upset when others don't follow the rules and lets them know that they are not doing so too.
