Dual Language Summa-Time Party

Dual Language Kiddos and Siblings

Kennedy and Cadence

Mom Michelle---always in for a good time:)
LOVE HER!

Here I go opening my big mouth again......at least when I have opened it and volunteered good outcomes have always followed. At the end of the year the mom's in Kennedy's class talked about having a summer get together. The kids and families in Kennedy's class are great and since we will be together the next five years we decided to volunteer to host the party at our house. We ended up with about 20 kids and parents. It turned out great--everyone chipped in for a water slide and brought food. As you can tell everyone had a great time!!! Until next year......

Big Boy Bed

You would have thought we gave this boy tickets the baseball game or the biggest bucket of candy......excitement doesn't even touch his happiness in getting a "big boy bed".  When both kids were born we got them convertible beds that would transition from a baby bed to toddler bed then to full size.  Jaxon had outgrown his bed with his head and feet touch at both ends. He is so particular about his new bed. He insists that it be made every day and that only certain people can lay on it. Man we LOVE this little guy!

Schlitterbahn

The kids have enjoyed the summer thus far.... only 2 weeks into it now! They have been with Daddy and joined the summer reading program at the library, enjoyed the summer movie program at the cinema and we ventured to Schlitterbahn in Galveston last week. We spent a good 7 hours in water fun and   the kids were asleep 5 minutes into the drive home. Jaxon had a smile from ear-to-ear that never left his sweet face while we were at the water park. Fun times!

The Miracle of Twins

I finally got my mommy reading material about multiples and dived into the 1st chapter. As I read further into the book I had a rush of emotions--anxiety, amazement and then peace. I wanted to share some interesting facts about twins. The natural incidence of twins occurs in one of 89 births. About two-thirds of all twins are fraternal and half of these pairs are boy/girl, one-fourth are boy/boy and the other fourth are girl/girl. Jaxon may win the vote of it being a boy/girl!

At our last doctor appointment this past week both babies were 2 inches in length and were very active. We could see their little arms and legs moving and saw two strong heart beats.  We will keep you posted on their progress. We are so excited and humbled by this miracle!

April Sound Hurricanes

It's that time of year again!!!! Swim team has been in full swing for about a month now. We had a late start with practices due to softball all-stars but now we are getting lots of pool time.  Kennedy had her 1st meet last week and did awesome--she got two 3rd places one in freestyle and the other in backstroke. Her 1st place ribbons were in breast and butterfly.  I am amazed at the amount of swimming they do at practice. In one practice the team swims the length of the pool at least 10 times. Jaxon can't wait for next year when he gets his turn to be on swim team.

Celebrating the Men We LOVE

Happy Father's Day to all the men in our lives---Daddy, PaPa, PoPo, Uncles and Great-Uncles, and Grandpas. We remember and celebrate them all today. We are so blessed to have a completely hands on daddy and husband. Jeremy does it all without blinking an eye. If it comes to playing ball outside, washing clothes, running to the grocery store, reading bedtime books or being the chauffeur he steps up to the call of duty. Without an equal partnership we would not be able to live the life that we do. It' s hard to believe that next years Father's Day picture will have little people in it. We are blessed beyond measure with all that he does!

While I am honoring the special men in our lives I need to recognize PaPa and PoPo.  We are blessed with their love, support and helping hand when it comes to family. Happy Father's Day!!

Lazy Summer Days

We are so excited to see the summer arrive. This summer is a little different than the past. Jeremy of course is home with the kiddos and they have days of fun planned. I normally work half of the summer and get to spend the rest of days off with the kids but this year I will be working in preparation for the twins to arrive.

Kennedy is doing swim team throughout June and Jaxon has swim lessons. We plan to spend time at the pool, take a couple of small trips and one big trip with MaMa PaPa, Uncle Stephen and MacKenzie on a cruise to Mexico. Bring on the summer---The Schramm Clan is READY!!!

Showing off our PEANUTS

This picture is "old" but I wanted to share it. When rushing out the door a couple of weeks ago Kennedy asked if she could bring her babies to school. I copied the ultrasound picture and so her wish was granted. You should have seen the reaction of the car rider line teachers and everyone at Jaxon's school as the picture was shown. By the end of the week every time I entered either Kennedy or Jaxon's school I got many hugs and well wishes. The copied ultrasound picture hangs on Kennedy's picture board in her classroom. Jaxon continuously talks about being a big brother. We will be busy and blessed!!

Softball State Tournament--GO LIGHTNING

Making their way in for opening ceremonies

Special Hand Shake from Daddy

Kennedy getting her stickers for big  "W"

Check out the purple hair

The girls loved hanging at the hotel--a bonus to playing softball

Cousin MacKenzie, MaMa and PaPa came to cheer the team on

All-Stars this year was an awesome experience. We had to get in the groove of 4-day week practices but when you are having fun it doesn't feel like practice!
Kennedy's team traveled two weekends ago for the State tournament. We went ready to have fun not necessarily to win. Much to our amazement the girls did incredible. 39 teams traveled to the tournament and Lightning placed 12 of 39 in 6U State. Pretty awesome given our age!!!

Kennedy has really loved playing softball and hopefully we will get the opportunity to play All-Stars next year. What great memories and great friendships that were made!
