Regional Semifinal Champs

The Bears clinched the regional semifinal series this weekend!! We won game 1, lost game 2, and came behind,  5 to 1 score,  to tie it up in top of the 7th and went into extra innings to win the game the 6-5.  The difference that I have seen as spectator through district and play-off play is our kids play with class--this is no mouthing,  unsportsmanlike conduct, or flat out disrespect for other players, coaches, and fans.

Our boys play the game and play it well!! We are headed to regional final series this week!!! We are one of eight 4A teams in the state that have continued to play.  It has been a ride and we have loved every minute of it!! Hats off to an amazing group of boys and coaches!!!!

Thankful

Thankful for our monthly get togethers even when it takes leaps to plan around all of our families activities, for long laughs, tears, genuineness, a sounding board when needed, mommy advice, a long hug, a margarita or two:), and so thankful for having friends that will last a life time and that amidst all the craziness of schedules and life that if I needed you, you would be there.  I am thankful for how each of us met and how we "fell into" this friendship. Love you and am blessed by you in so many ways!!

T-K, Transitional Kindergarten Graduation 2012

Kennedy's Diploma
Each year during graduation, the teacher's pick a word to describe attributes of each child.  Kennedy's word was integrity.  As her teacher spoke of her she mentioned words of "smart, what every little girl should be, and a  huge heart" I couldn't help but smile and had to wipe a few tears away.

The kids entertained the audience with things they had learned while at Grace. They recited the Lord's Prayer, performed songs, and the smiles were so big they could have been seen outside the sanctuary.

I love this picture!

Blessed by grandparents! Kennedy was supported by her grandparents, parents, and close friends! What a great blessing to have such wonderful people in our lives!

The smiles give it away!

Mother's Day

Kennedy's class got cakes from H-E-B.
This is the cake Kennedy made for me:)

Mother's Day is a day to remember those special woman in your life that are honored to be called "mom".  And an honor it is!! I read a "tribute to mom's" that Kennedy brought home and could only smile. This is a few things it said-
  •   this is for all the mother who sat up all night with sick toddlers  and babies
  • this is to mothers that gave birth to babies they will never see and to those who took those babies and gave them homes
  • this is to all the mother's that said "Goodnight Moon" twice a night for year
  • this is for the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoeslaces before they started school and for the moms that opted for velcro instead
  • this is for the moms that taught their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot
  • this is for the mother who turns her head automatically when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their offspring are at home

I have inserted part of the tribute and think how different mom's are and how in every strength or weakness they are still called "mom".  Kennedy and Jaxon I love you with all my heart and I will always be here to guide you, love you unconditionally, and help you reach for the stars.  This best gift God has ever given me beyond marrying your father is YOU!! I am so happy to hear the three-letter word "M-O-M"!

The Score Keepers

Bear baseball is in full swing! We start round 2 Friday with a double-header in Baytown.  When you are a "coaches family" much of your life is about the team and for us it is about supporting our team and most importantly our husbands.  Ready for a "W"!

Hurricane Swim Team

Welcome to the Hurricanes Swim Team!!! Kennedy started swim team this past week and will continue until the end of June. With our neighbors unfenced pool next door:( at the moment and the need to heighten her skills we decided to go for it. After day 2, I am so glad she is doing it. Her coach was an Olympic swimmer and she is phenomenal with the kids and doing with her best buds is added perk!

Camp Kinder

We signed Kennedy up this past week for Kindergarten and she got to attend "Camp Kinder".  She was beaming when she came home! She was able to meet her teachers, get on a school bus, etc.

A year ago we were questioning whether to put her into 1st or kindergarten. Through much prayer and support of other teachers and friends we have decided to put her in kinder. This year the school calendar begins August 2oth----another answered prayer, she will turn 6 after the start of school.   So many things run through your head as a parent....she is ahead now reading a 2nd grade level, doing math facts,  and has made good friends.  Then I fastforward to when she turns 16 and the possibility of starting college at 17.

Thank you for answered prayers. We can't wait to start kindergarten! She will be in public kinder in a dual-language program. She will learn all the curriculum in english and spanish for the next 5 years. A second answered prayer. The dual-language aspect confirmed our decision and we know she will be challenged! So KINDERGARTEN HERE WE COME!!!!!!

Our Little Man

My posts lately have been about Kennedy and all her activities. I know in about a year they will be full of little man's extracurriculars too! With play-offs and 1st swim practice for Kennedy this weekend we jumped at the offer for him to go to MaMa and PaPa's this weekend. He got to enjoy the Maifest and have time all to himself with his grandparents.

Jaxon is Jeremy made-over in so many ways. He is the jokester and knows how to have a good time. This little guy never meets a stranger and man does he have a heart of gold. He melts us with kisses and I love you's all the time and maybe at the opportune time on his part.  Jaxon will start swim lessons soon. His new accomplishments are...night potty-trained and he can spell his name. He is our sweet baby boy!

T Ball Finale

Prettiest player I  have ever seen

He cannot wait until it is his turn

T-ball is over!!! What a fun season! T-ball at the 5-year old level is awesome.......care-free, full of laughs, and it is true "snapshot" of what it is to love the game.   We hear everything from the field, "when's dinner, I have to go to the bathroom, I am sweating."  Kennedy learned so much this year and we are glad it was hear and is gone. We have had 3 and 4 nights of baseball over the past 2-weeks with Kennedy and Jeremy's ball. The Bears are headed to round 2 of play-offs:)

Pretty Princess

This was Kennedy's favorite costume thus far!! This was her last Grace festival to perform in.....bittersweet with her last and Jaxon's first performance.

She has grown so much over the past five years and it is hard to believe that we signed her up for Kindergarten yesterday!!! She is more than ready! She is loving school and is now reading at a first and second grade level!  She is ready to go to "big school" and ride the bus. That we have not settled on, but she will get to ride the "teachers' kid's bus" from daddy's school to her school occassionally:).  We have loved what Grace School has done for our children and beyond the academics my fondest memory of Grace is when Kennedy learned to say the Lord's Prayer and says it by heart at every service.
