Normally the first sunday after New Years day we have what is called Maurer Christmas. On this day we gather with my Grandpa Maurer's living siblings and their immediate family. The normally is a turn out of 30 or more! Today Grandpa's dad would have been 119 if I remember right if he was still living. It is a very unique thing that we still gather together. I remember this date as a child and now we are bringing our children. Family is truly a wonderful thing!!
Normally there is a friendly game of pitch along with outdoor games for the kids. The kids played baseball with cousin Kelcie and Jaxon had me laughing with his little stance and leg hike.
