Slippery Slide AKA Slip-n-Slide

We are surviving the heat thanks to our inflatable pool, slip-n-slide, and our neighborhood pools! There is not one dry suit when it comes to the heat and cooling off! This weekend was the first with the "slippery slide" as Kennedy would say. Kennedy loved it and Jaxon kept cool in the pool.

Blessed be the name...

As I read a friend's blog I was brought back to last Friday when Kennedy I were driving around town. About a year ago I turned into KSBJ and have changed the station a hand full of times. It is a great christian station, uplifting, and always gets me in the right frame of mind. A song came on, "Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be his glorious name!" Kennedy is in the back seat belting out the song with her hands cupped at her mouth and followed this with hand motions to the song. I asked her where she learned the motions and she said we dance to and sing this song at school!! At that very moment tears came to my eyes.....what an incredible God-filled blessing! That was one of the best trips I have ever had around town.

Love Daddy's BBQ

Most of the photos we catch of Jaxon are when he is confined to his chair or asleep. He is all boy. Forget neatness of any kind, that is all thrown out the window with this one! In the top photo Jaxon as Kennedy is eating some of Daddy's ribs! Sunday's at our house consists of church, naps for everyone, and BBQ outdoors.

Just Married

I can imagine the "Just Married" sign dangling from their play car. Kennedy's thing for awhile is " I am marrying Jaxon and Sadie". She looks at our wedding pictures all the time. I guess the white dress infatuation does start early!

Jaxon's New Words

Jaxon is changing and growing each day! He is babbling and imitating simple words, most of which we can understand more than anyone else.

We are working on Granny and anything else that he can approximate. He knows how to gesture to signify what he wants and if that doesn't work well....he just throws himself down or plants himself in front of you and cries, mind you without one tear, until he is able to communicate his wants.

Just Having Fun

These are a few pictures from this past weekend. We enjoyed lots of time in the water which is a most nowadays. I am rethinking the pool if and when we sell our home!! Kennedy is gaining more confidence with each dip in the pool and as for Jaxon we are becoming more apprehensive. He is scaring us to death....No fear!!

Father's Day 2010

Happy Father's Day to an amazing husband and an even more amazing father!! There are no words to describe our love for this man and he definitely is number one in the eyes of Kennedy and Jaxon. We are wishing you the best day God can give!

On Father's Day we also blessed by two other amazing men in our lives, PaPa and PoPo. Thank you for your unconditional love and blessing us in so many ways.

More Pool Fun

In this first picture Jaxon looks so sad.....maybe it is the pink floaties!! We now buy neutral colors and we will be getting him a pair of boy floaties if we can remember them at the next Wal-Mart trip. He is so precious. I do see possible blackmail in the future...blue hat, pink floaties, orange trunks!

We enjoyed some more pool time with the Gary's Saturday! We are so blessed to have them in our lives....what a great family! The kids played for a couple of hours in the pool. The funniest part was watching Jaxon play under the mushroom water toy. He literally would put is face in first to get under the gush of over head water and pop up on the other side. He is completely a fish in the water which is quite scary. Pool time does not consist of relaxtion just yet.

Team Tommy

On Saturday Kennedy and I headed to particpate in a 3.5 mile walk for one of my patient's. Tommy and his family have ever changed my life. Please see Tommy's story, his blog is listed on our page. Go TEAM TOMMY!

Barber Jeremy

After our last haircut, as we walked Sports Clips Jeremy says, "I can do that!" I was a little hesitant....you know we are talking about the baby with the "best hair":) All-in-all his cut was easy and turned out great! Kennedy asked her daddy if he could cut her hair too... NO!

Jaxon would say the best part of the whole things was the sucker!!!

Cousin Time

The past week cousin MacKenzie came and spent a couple of nights with Kennedy and Jaxon. The kids enjoyed playing together. We mainly spent time around the house and at the pool. It is amazing how long a tub with bubbles can entertain kids. I was quite tired after our shopping trip with MaMa and the girls on Friday.

Swim Lessons

Kennedy started swim lessons this week. Not that I wasn't ever a firm believer in lessons, but now whatever doubts I had are no more. Kennedy has always been quite timid in the water. I think one reason for this was all the issues with tubes and having to wear plugs. At the beginning of the week she would barely put her head in the water and at the end of the week she was jumping in the pool head first and swimming some...3 more weeks of swim lessons!

Fun with Granny and PoPo

Hot summer days call for some water play. Granny and PoPo were visiting this past weekend and that is just what we did-enjoy the water! The kids had a blast playing and are always sad when their grandparents leave.

Need a New Maid???

I have mentioned this before, but Jaxon is obsessed with vacuum's. He goes to the closet, pulls them out, and is at the outlet ready to go. Alot of times if we are rushing to head out the door, which is more often than not, I plug a vacuum in and this is what you get. He is either vacuuming or pulling something around the house.

Brenham Goes to State

Granny and PoPo gave us a call Saturday to come watch the Brenham Cubs play at SHSU. I was a little hesitant at first just thinking about Jaxon running the bleachers, but it turned out to be a great game and the kids had a blast!! Another treat was that the Maurer cousins were there too and the kids got to play together. The Cubs clinched a state play-off spot in game three!! Although, we now bleed purple, we still support our Alma Mater....what an amazing accomplishment for the Cubs.

This is one my favorites of the girls! They really enjoy playing together!

Jaxon enjoyed sharing popcorn with PoPo and the dollar fan I picked up at Wal-Mart was the best buy ever!!!

Got to Love Play Dates...

Friday's signify three things 1) day off 2) mommy time with my babies and 3) many Friday play dates. Friday we packed up and met Cooper and Brooklyn for some shopping and water play at Market Street. The kids had a blast together. It was nice to get in some "girl" time, lunch, and some much needed shopping.

Boy versus Girl

You always hear everyone saying, "He is such a boy, or she is such a little girl!" Well, we have been blessed with the best of both worlds. Meet our prissy little princess, however, I think she is a tough little girl, and our messy little boy!!

I have reverted to allowing Jaxon to feed himself quite often especially on game nights. This little outfit got tossed in the trash and this little boy was washed well after this meal!
