Maurer Vacation Concludes
One of my most treasured, if not the most treasured gift is family. This vacation was filled with memories and so many blessings. I feel fortunate to say there are not many extended families that are able to come together like this. Thank you God for this blessing of family. May we always remember this gift that you have provided us and let us not take it for granted. We are truly blessed! We look forward to Maurer Vacation 2011.

Game on in more ways than one....
Rotate?!?
What game do you want to play....a somewhat friendly game of volleyball, pitch until the early morning hours, or pictionary? It was quite comical playing volleyball as we all felt our age and figured out quickly we weren't as "good" as we used to be. We started around 7 each night and played until we were guessing where the ball was. It was so much fun and brought back memories of playing at Doug and Dorothy's growing up. The last night we brought out the oldies, but goodies, as the girls all went back to the high school game day sporting french braids.
As for pitch....the Maurer clan can play anytime anywhere. We threw the game of pictionary in on the last night to mix it up a bit and it was so much fun as well!

Dip or Float
Copper Cantina was a fantastic house with two luxuries that we all love, a pool and volleyball court. Our days were filled with playing in the water either floating down the river or taking a dip in the pool.
Kennedy and Jaxon both loved the pool and it was hard to keep all the kids out of it. Kennedy learned to swim under water while we were there getting some motivation from cousin Avery. As for the river, she did well. On day one of our 3 and 1/2 hour float she began in the raft with cousin Austin, Avery, and Caleb. Most everyone bailed from the raft and ended in a parent's lap. Kennedy laid back with her cap over her face and chilled out, not what I was expecting at all, but it made it a little easier. MaMa kept Jaxon the first day and on day two Aunt Dorothy kept all five kids and they did great! Hats off to Aunt Dorothy and MaMa for watching the kiddos.

Concan 2010
The entire Maurer family headed to Concan for four fun-filled days. We were missing a couple of people, that only left us with 22 people bunking together. We had a fantastic 5 bedroom house that Aunt Dorothy booked for us. We ate, drank, and laughed alot. It was a great trip filled with many memories!! I titled this "Concan 2010" because the Maurer 2011 trip has been tentatively booked. Pictures will follow in the next couple of days.

Happy Birthday Abby and AJ
We are blessed by our friendship with Chris and Lana! It is amazing to think we met over ten years ago and we continue to see each throughout the year (btw we are due for a vacation together). Abby and AJ celebrated the big #1 and #3 this Saturday and it was nice to enjoy a dip in the pool and celebrate this special day with them.

The Stats are in
Jeremy took Jaxon in for his 15-18 month appointment today. He has been keeping the kids on Tuesday and Thursday during the summer and they are loving it! Therefore, because of that he brought Kennedy also. Jaxon got two shots and has grown quite a bit since his last check-up. He is now 16 months old and his percentiles are as follows:
Weight 25#, 50-75%
Height 33", 90-95%
Head Circumference 19", 95-97%
The doctor did have some concern for his rapid head growth, but he is officially a growing boy. We do not make little babies-toddlers.
