I love my new dress

Prissy #1, #2, #3

Kennedy likes to wear dresses but is not deadset on wearing one normally. She got a super cute dress from Jamie and Kyle for Easter and has been "deadset" on wearing it and the headband every chance she gets. This weekend we had a party and as I go to pull out an outfit she comes right behind me, "I want to wear this pretty dress Momma...that one."
She also enjoyed her first official sleepover that involved staying somewhere other than her grandparent's house. Last weekend, she stayed with cousin Jamie at Uncle Doug and Dorothy's and got to see and play with all the Maurer cousins. We will have pictures to post soon....she is still talking about "playing with Avery, "Kenzie's" soccer game, reindeer and the heavy skates."

Photos

These are some photos we had taken for little man's first birthday! The one with the him holding the baseball is priceless. We use JCP photography alot since it is close to the house and we have never had any complaints.

She's a Frequent Flyer.....

Ms. Amy, the nurse practicioner states to the student intern as she is walking out of the examination room today, "She's a frequent flyer". Poor kid...Kennedy has seen the inside of the doctor's office many a time in the last four years. Last night between 12 and 3am Jeremy and I sat in bed trying to determine if our daughter was crying and complaining of ear pain as another hoax to snuggle up next to mom and dad. After trips back and forth to her room, no fever or other symptoms except for tears, we ended up putting her in our bed. Her left ear canal was swollen compared to the right and beyond that we figured she might have an ear infection.
The clock chimed 3am and we were finally to bed and then my alarm went off at 7am. I examined Kennedy's ear, cleaned it out, and found a suprise..fluid and other yuckies. Luckily, I had seen it before with her tubes and knew that her ear drum had ruptured / perforated. So to all the mommies out there beware.....the prognosis is good..she will heal on her own and with a round of oral antibotics, ear drops, and TLC she is back to her self. The crazy thing was she never seemed uncomforable or complainted alot until last night. I guess I will pay a little more attention to "my ear hurts".

Easter Ends...Just remembered...

Please forgive my lateness...I had to include the great end to Easter:)
What a weekend!!! We packed up our things and headed back home Sunday evening around 8 or so. No holiday is complete without children and the funny stories and not so funny stories that arise. We made it to Navasota on "empty"..the gage reading 3 miles until empty. As we passed the Brazos bridge the jeep began to jerk meaning start praying even more....come on gas station. As this is happening I am thinking to myself who wants to make the call to mom and dad to say we left with their grandchildren and literally no gas. The second startling event.....we hear a gag from the back seat and sorry for those who don't have kids or don't want to hear this, but little man got very sick and threw up EVERYWHERE (may want to torch the seat Maurers). We get to a station, fill up with gas, start stripping Jaxon down, and bagging the car seat. I have him naked on the tailgate and I turn to talk to Jeremy and feel something wet on my arm. I turn to look and Jaxon is standing smiling as he pees all over the tailgate. Seriously!!!! We got everyone cleaned up, Jaxon got to ride in sister's big seat which he has stayed in since, and Kennedy got to ride big girl style in the back (she also just got a new booster seat....which is way cool in her books).
We are so blessed to have family and friends that surround and fill our lives with joy, happiness, and love. What a great Easter.....would never in a million years want it any other way.

Jaxon's Favorite Things

This was Jaxon's second official Easter. Let's just say come the weekend's end he was ready to be in his own bed. He is a 7-7 kid meaning put him down at 7pm and he wakes at 7am, too much deviation causes him much fatigue and crying. Both of our kids were that way until now... Kennedy's bedtime has moved to 8:30.
Jaxon's favorite things this Easter:
  • pulling the streamers out of his basket
  • the wagon ride (thanks Wes)
  • mommy and daddy's hip

Next year he will enjoy his first official egg hunt in all its glory. Can't wait!

My Favorite Things

Kennedy's favorite things about Easter

  • Cousin Jamie and Kyle came and played with me

  • I talked to the Easter bunny on the phone....I didn't get to see him though at my house, he was busy

  • Playing with my cousins

  • Did I mention the candy

Two funny things happened Sunday evening, one that I choose not to write about and one that I will for share for some entertaining reading. The kids were running in circles through the house and I hear Kennedy yelling in the hallway. I thought I heard "I went potty"....and that is what happened. She was playing too hard to take a break and use the restroom. On the way home Jeremy and I asked her why didn't she tell someone she had to go potty and she says, " I told Austin" (her cousin who is the same age as her).
