A Little Odd

Maybe this doesn't seem so odd to you......I just have to laugh!! This past week we have had a lot going on with vacation, building the house, and OH YES, Jaxon moved to his toddler bed. Kennedy was climbing out of her crib at 18 months and Jaxon, well, he has been content in the comfort of his crib.  Jeremy called me this past week one morning in shock. He said he heard a door knob turn, rolled over in bed, and saw Jaxon standing there with his sippy cup and blankie in hand at our bed, "Hi Daddy!!"  Did I mention the big smile that appeared on his face and how proud he was of himself?  Later that day, Jeremy and the kids were playing and he asked Jaxon for the second time how he got out of his bed. Kennedy replies, "Well, Daddy, I think he climbed from the crib to the chair" and in detail she offered every step of his escape. When questioned a little further, it appeared that one day when they were playing Kennedy was climbing in and out of his crib and so he followed:) (this was the point of superb parental supervision).

So...we have transitioned him to his toddler bed which has been complete with a lot of stern returns to bed.  Jeremy and I caught him sleeping on the floor late one night. We are not sure if he fell out of bed or just liked the open space of the floor!!  Gotta love that boy!

Swim Lessons...Loving It

Kennedy and Miss Madison
The beginning of summer means a lot of things for the Schramm Clan...one being the start of swim lessons, plans for vacation, and fun in the sun! Kennedy started off the summer taking two weeks of swim lessons and it has really paid off in her confidence and love for swimming. It also gives us peace of mind in knowing that she can swim and get to where she needs to go. She finally got the cupped hands going, breath, and kick down and loves being in the pool!

Daddy's Right Hand Man

Happy Father's Day to one amazing man!! He is an amazing father and he does it all!! He is a father, an equal partner in our marriage and with raising our children, and he deserves more than one day to celebrate how much we love him.  It is funny how your love grows, changes, and deepens through life. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and we love you so much!!!!

We are also blessed to have two other amazing men in our lives, PaPa and PoPo. You have taught us what it means to be family and a parent.  Happy Father's Day!!!

City Folk Go Swimming

I was packing the car getting ready for our trip to Galveston and in between packing, cleaning out the car, and starting to water the yard, I looked over my shoulder to find this:).  The kids, still in their school clothes, had made a fun time playing in our sprinkler.  In the end, I sat outside for almost an hour and let them have at it. It was not fun washing shoes, etc, but it was all worth watching their little faces as they played in the water.

Special Visit:):)

If I have said it once, twice, a million times........we love Kelcie!!!  This past weekend we had a special visit from Doug, Dorothy, and Kelcie. Our kids as babies have always been a little slow to warm up and since we are not in Brenham and around family as much as we would like we are normally holding our children lots when we head to unfamiliar territory.  Lord knows everyone has always tried to steal them away, however, the comfort of grandparents or parents always seemed to make it better.

Kelcie is one of Jaxon's baptismal sponsors and loves this little boy and he FINALLY is all about Kelcie. After she left, he kept asking "Were Kelcie?!?" We enjoyed showing off the house, time with family, and the special visit. I have always appreciated my relationships with my cousins and remember growing up being unseparable from Jason, Wesley, Jamie, Kelcie, and Meghan and remember playing all summer.  After getting married and having kids, I appreciate these relationships even more.

Doesn't Look Sick to Me

On the 1st official day home with daddy, Jaxon started running temp again. Kennedy was our "infection" kid and Jaxon is the one that catches every virus known to man. He is not sick often comparatively speaking, however, when he gets it he is pitiful. There is a lot of time spent rocking in Daddy's chair, baseball cap, blankie, and cup (all items of security) clutched in his hands, and a fever that reaches 104!!!  Day 2 of the virus......looks like someone is back to his normal self!
